55-Year-Old Molly Ringwald Still Shining Bright In New Interview Poster

Molly Ringwald is as ageless as ever! Ringwald charmed the nation as Samantha Baker in Sixteen Candles and she’s remained a timeless part of our lives ever since, from The Breakfast Club to last year’s Bad Things.

At 55, Ringwald’s star is still shining bright! She recently appeared in a glowing poster promoting an interview on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. The photo was barely up a full day before fans found themselves floored by how ageless Ringwald still looks.

On Monday, Ringwald took to Instagram to share a promotional image for her interview with Fallon. “First time on Fallon!” she informed her 1.4 million Instagram fans from New York City, before excitedly adding, “Tune in!” In the picture, Ringwald is seen with her signature chestnut hair artfully framing her face with waterfall bangs. The coloring acts as a lovely contrast to the emerald green of her elegant, flowing blouse, all further brightened by her smile.

Fans and fellow celebrities expressed their excitement for Ringwald in light of this fresh, new experience, with Mariska Hargitay cheering, “Get it!” Others, however, were too stunned by just how little Ringwald changed.

“You look like the Molly in 16 candles,” wrote one fan, “You have not aged at all this is amazing. Amby absolutely adores you.”

Keeping things transparent

Ringwald has stayed very busy in the industry, with new credits almost every year since ’79 on both the big and small screen. But she is also candid about her experience both as a child star and as a woman going through the aging process in the spotlight.

Also appearing in The Secret Life of the American Teenager, Ringwald reflected on the way her image as a child actor always seems to color the way people perceive her.

“How is this possible, you know?” she mused in an interview with Mo Rocca of CBS News. “Everyone else can turn 40. I’m Molly Ringwald. I’m so associated with being young and being with a teenager.” To act out typical teen hangups in front of a camera and then experience them herself firsthand was “pretty odd,” according to Ringwald.

Fortunately, she always had parents who were in her corner, not thinking only of themselves. Ringwald shared, “I didn’t have parents who were, you know, racing to get a reality television show, you know? Or looking to benefit in some way from their daughter’s fame.” They focused on letting her feel proud of herself while keeping things real – and that has served her into the present day.
